Heavenwood invites Thee Orakle to share the Rivoli stage! |

HEAVENWOOD finish the promotion of their 3rd album "Redemption" on next July 17 in one of the most emblematic and important venues in Portugal, Teatro Municipal RIVOLI in the heart of Oporto city.
This concert has a limit of 174 people since it will be held at the Small Auditorium with opening doors at 21:30.
Thee Orakle are the band that has demonstrated its value and once again share the stage with great musicians, will be the band's opening night. This opportunity will be great for the band to play songs from their short but rich musical career and who knows, some tracks from the next album! It will be with no doubt, a rich night full of surprises.
The tickets will be available on the next July 17 from 9pm (opening doors) on the Rivoli ticket service or Reserves from the day July1 at http://www.ticketline.pt

" Sinceramente somente os tinha visto uma vez no ano passado no Metal Gdl e desta vez deixaram me com excelente impressão principalmente porque me pareceram uma banda muito mais madura e super profissional.
Num misto de death/doom gothic metal levaram os presentes a um excelente concerto principalmente tocando faixas do album "Metaphortime" ."

"Another favorite is "White Linen" featuring vocal and guitar contributions from Daniel Cardoso and Pedro Mendes, in fact I was really surprised by this song, it definitely has the potential to be successful for the band if they choose to release it as a single - all of the vocals are handled by Micaela and Daniel Cardoso on this one. It definitely stands out amongst the heavier more brutal music on "Metaphortime".

The 13th. Night Productions (http://www.myspace.com/13thnight) it's now promoting the visit of the israelis Orphaned Land (http://www.orphaned-land.com/) here in Portugal!
At this gig they are going to promote the fantastic and recent album The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR and fill the night with magic arabic sounds!
To end the Metaphortime Tour the Portuguese band Thee Orakle will support the Israelis with a special concert which will be attended by the great composer and musician Yossi Sassi at "Alchemy Awake" ...

We wish you all a 2010 full of successes!
For new times, new projects ... so the Thee Orakle have some news!
Right now the band is preparing to the composition phase of his 2nd album that was planed to be recorded at the end of 2010.
However the band should make a few more gigs in their country to retire after that to a pause that would be total concentration on the album. It may however be some exception since some special invitation appears to Thee Orakle accept to interrupt the pause.
For 2009, the Metaphortime Tour completely reached all the objectives stipulated by the band and even has surpass them! We therefore have a hugely positive balance of Thee Orakle's 2009. Shared the stage with great bands like Bal-Sagoth, Dark Tranquility, Cynic, Amon Amarth, Bizarre Locomotive, WAKO, Echidna and The Ransack, among others!
Reactions to Metaphortime were undoubtedly excellent and the criticism made them even invest more in the future with all the trouble to do even better!

The " Metaphortime Tour'09 " is still active and this time the tramontane band is going to visit the nearby territory of Spain for the 3rd time, this time like headliner band of ZONE METAL FEST.
Zone Metal Fest it's going to have, till now, on the stage bands like In.Verno + To Nowhere and Thee Orakle.
The event is going to happen in the small city of Bueu near to Vigo in the day 19 of December.
More details about the fest as soon as we can.

"(...)The album is a rather solid piece of music and a fine full-length debut. The first track introduces the beautiful melodic ideas the group possesses and does seem very promising indeed. On this album the musical composition lies on a strong basis of death metal with simple and fine melodies.(...)What is very positive about this group is the harmony between the two vocalists and the fact that they are not overshadowing each other in any way as this has happened in female-fronted groups where the female singer only gets a few lines to sing or in groups where the male singer completely disappears behind the female voice. Thus the overall compositional value of this album is high.(...)

"The male / female vocal duelling has been done to death and Thee Orakle's overall style, call it what you want, from Dark Gothic to melodic Death, is again, a well used style. BUT, on the positive side, they are bloody good at what they do. I love the way Mika and Pedro's vocals work together, with Pedro's growling vocals a perfect foil for Mika's softer tones, which, incidentally, remind me of (Stream of Passion's) Marcelo Bovio."

Parabola niterného nokturna oslepená strachem v bludisti tisícu chodeb, tocitých schodist, podkroví bez oken, bez plápolajících loucí, v palácích s absencí zivota. Ve vsech sedmdesáti zrcadlech vetknutých do obnazené pokozky sten odrází se sedmdesát mrtvých tvárí. A pak se, obávajíce se odpovedi, zeptala temnoty: "Je tady nekdo?" Avsak lidská samota nikdy neodpoví. Nikdy a na zádnou otázku.
THEE ORAKLE svým debutovým albem presto na jednu otázku odpovídají. Pokud jste totiz povazovali puvodní gotický metal s presahy do doomu, s nekompromisním kytarovým zvukem dokreslovaným atmosférickými klávesovými linkami a prolínáním zenského vokálu s muzským growlingem za prakticky mrtvý zánr, portugalské sedmero srdnate hlásí: "Jeste to tak docela nechcíplo!" Ba co víc, skrze padesát minut desky "Metaphortime" dostanete moznost zavzpomínat na obskurní gotické casy kolem neopakovatelného alba "Icon (1993)" od britských PARADISE LOST nebo starsí tvorbu norských uskupení TRISTANIA a TRAIL OF TEARS. A nutno hned na úvod podotknout, ze jde o pomerne príjemné vzpomínání.
Kapela z Vila Realu funguje pomerne krátce. Za pocátek své existence povazují prosinec 2004, potazmo rok 2005, kdy se ucelil celý pocetný line-up a bylo nahráno prvního demo. Mezi srpnem a zárím roku 2008 pak zacal pod producentským dohledem Daniela Cardosa (mimo jiné sezónní bubeník u gothicmetalových krajanu HEAVENWOOD) vznikat výse zmínený debut "Metaphortime".
Desetiskladbové panoptikum cítá souhru hrácsky precizne zpracovaných motivu jednotlivých skladeb, kontrast chvílemi témer death-doomových kytarových riffu s podmanivým zenským vokálem Micaely Cardosové a spoustou atmosférotvorných nástroju jako buzuki hostujícího Yossiho Sassiho Sa'arona (ORPHANED LAND) ve skladbe "Alchemy Awake" ci prícná flétna taktéz hostující Tatiany Campos v záverecné instrumentálce "Feeling Superior Knowlegde". K tomu vsemu slusný growl Pedra Silvy, který mi chvílemi (predevsím u pátého songu "Quimera Metamorphosis") pripomínal chraptícího Fernanda Ribeira, potazmo i kytarové linky nekoncícího dilematu sesté skladby "Never-Ending Dilema" daly vzpomenout na MOONSPELL v období kolem desek "Darkness and Hope" (2001) a "The Antidote" (2003).
To vse je pak jako celek maximálne (zánrove) funkcní, pomerne pusobivé a vytvárející poslechove príjemné toulky samotou, depresemi, prírodou. Jedinou vetsí rezervu bych videl v osobitejsím uplatnení atmosférických, melodických pasází, které by jinak dobre zvládnutou epiku alba povznesly z milého, nostalgického standardu k pozicím nadstandardním, oznacovaným coby hudebne nezapomenutelné. Zkrátka az jednou v dusledku klimatických zmen zamrzne peklo, tem tam nahore bude asi porádný horko az dábel pozádá o azyl. Aneb souznení jizanského zivelného naturelu, do jisté míry typického zvuku a vkrádajícího se pocitového chladu.
Kdepak, Portugalsko uz na temné listine dávno nevymezují jenom ti legendární MOONSPELL. Dokazují to výrazove hodne podobní ETERNAL MOURNING, stejne jako experimentátori AVA INFERI nebo doomová nadeje PROCESS OF GUILT. A pokud má ten uz trochu fosilizující, prapuvodní gotický metal jeste opravdu cosi nabídnout, pak k nim lze do budoucna urcite pripocíst práve i THEE ORAKLE. Trebas i s tou jeste víc osobitejsí tvárí.

"Thee Orakle - Metaphortime (2009)
(...)O ritmo marcante no Metaphortime é rápido, mas temos algumas passagens mais lentas, como no caso da terceira faixa, Ghost Memories, onde durante alguns segundos se cheira a Opeth. O trabalho de Frederico Lopes na bateria é de louvar: năo só técnicamente irrepreensível, a capacidade de improviso e as mudanças de ritmo săo absolutamente geniais.
Aos tręs temas iniciais segue-se aquele que é para mim o melhor tema do álbum; o título The Great Masterpiece descreve exactamente aquilo que a faixa é: uma obra-prima! A voz da Micaela năo poderia estar melhor, bem como o gutural cortante acompanhado pelas guitarras e os seus solos técnicos e ricos. (...)

"(...)Este é um álbum que acrescenta qualidade ao Metal Portuguęs e a banda mostra que é um nome a ter em conta no presente e no futuro! (...) Apesar de todos os músicos darem um contributo bastante importante, destaco o excelente trabalho de guitarra e a óptima dicotomia entre a voz gutural masculina e a voz cantada e delicada feminina. A secçăo rítmica mostra-se competente e as teclas fazem-se presentes nas alturas certas.
Mais palavras para quę? É um óptimo álbum. Do melhor que se faz por cá e acima de muita coisa que se faz lá fora!

(...)"As I mentioned there is a lot of depth here, I realise this by the amount of times I have had to listen to the album before attempting to put (figurative) pen to paper here and it is an album that has me discovering different nuances on every listen. This also means that it is one that I am going to want to keep coming back to, the mark of a good album in my book. The depth is not only within the music but also the album title, the booklet artwork and lyrics have a lot of substance about them as well. Alchemy, some symbols that are recognisable, a song called ‘The Great Masterpiece’ I am beginning to gain knowledge of an arcane concept at play here! The other thing about this is that it’s one of those albums that is in a way unique and one that I am not going to be name dropping other bands into the review as there are no obvious comparisons here.
